Concrete Top Construction & Finish
We handcraft each Ansonia table top using a proprietary concrete blend that balances strength with workability. The mix includes Portland cement, fine aggregates, and reinforcing fibers that prevent cracking during the curing process.
Our artisans pour each top in custom molds, then hand-trowel the surface to create subtle texture variations. After a 28-day cure cycle, we apply three coats of penetrating sealer that protects against wine, oil, and acidic foods without creating a plastic-looking film. The natural gray tone develops character over time—light patina and micro-variations are intentional design features.
Dimensions & Seating Capacity
At 96 inches long and 42 inches wide, the Ansonia comfortably accommodates 10 diners—four along each long side and one at each end. This configuration provides approximately 24 inches of elbow room per person, meeting commercial restaurant standards for comfortable dining.
The 30-inch standard table height pairs with our industrial dining chair collection, which features seats positioned 18 inches from the floor. We recommend leaving 36 inches of clearance around the table perimeter for chair movement and serving access.
Steel Base Engineering
The Ansonia base uses 2-inch square steel tubing with 1/8-inch wall thickness, providing the rigidity needed to support a 400-pound concrete top without flex or wobble. We weld each joint with full penetration, then grind smooth for a seamless appearance.
Powder coating in matte black creates a durable finish that resists chips and scratches better than liquid paint. The coating process involves electrostatic application followed by high-temperature curing, resulting in a surface hardness that stands up to daily chair contact.

The Ansonia concrete dining table seats 10 people with proper spacing—four diners along each 96-inch side and one at each end. Each person gets approximately 24 inches of width, which meets restaurant industry standards for comfortable dining. If you’re using armchairs at the heads, you might reduce capacity to 8-10 depending on chair dimensions.
For smaller gatherings of 6-8, the extra space provides room for serving dishes and centerpieces. The 42-inch width gives each diner generous depth without feeling like you’re shouting across the table.
We seal every Ansonia table top with three coats of commercial-grade penetrating sealer that protects against common food and beverage stains. When properly maintained, the surface resists wine, oil, tomato sauce, and other typical culprits. Wipe spills within a few minutes and you’ll have no issues.
The concrete surface will show normal use patina over time—light scratches from dishes and utensils are part of the material’s character. Deep scratches are rare because concrete is quite hard, but the matte finish hides minor surface marks better than glossy materials. Resealing every 12-18 months maintains optimal protection.
Daily cleaning requires only a damp microfiber cloth and water. For stuck-on food or grease, add a small amount of pH-neutral dish soap—avoid vinegar, citrus cleaners, or anything acidic that can break down the sealer.
Dry the surface after cleaning to prevent water spots. For stubborn marks, our concrete furniture care kit includes a specialized cleaner formulated for sealed concrete. Never use abrasive scrubbers or scouring powders, which can dull the finish.
Assembly requires two people and takes 45-60 minutes. The steel base arrives fully welded—you’ll bolt the base components together, position the assembled base, then lift the concrete top onto the mounting plates. We include all necessary hardware and a hex key.
The main challenge is the top’s 400-pound weight, which requires coordinated lifting. We don’t recommend attempting this alone. No power tools are needed, though an adjustable wrench helps with the leveling feet. Our assembly guide includes photos for each step.
The Ansonia measures 96 inches long by 42 inches wide, so you’ll need a room at least 14 feet by 11 feet for comfortable traffic flow—this allows 36 inches of clearance around the table perimeter for chairs and movement.

The Ansonia ships in two packages via freight carrier—expect 3-4 weeks from order to delivery for made-to-order production. We’ll contact you to schedule delivery once your table ships.
The concrete top ships in a custom wood crate with foam protection. The steel base components ship in a separate carton. Freight delivery is curbside—the driver will unload to your driveway or building entrance but won’t bring items inside. Plan for help moving the packages to your assembly location.
