Solid Wood Construction & Craftsmanship

We build the Lanton Dining Table from solid rubberwood, a sustainable hardwood prized for its durability and attractive grain. Unlike veneer-topped tables, solid wood construction means the entire table can be refinished if needed decades from now.

The trestle base connects to the tabletop using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, reinforced with wood glue and steel brackets. This centuries-old technique creates joints stronger than the wood itself. Each table receives hand-sanding through three progressive grits before we apply the weathered oak stain in multiple coats.

Dimensions & Seating Capacity
Sizing & fit

Dimensions & Seating Capacity

The Lanton measures 96 inches long by 42 inches wide, providing comfortable seating for 8 to 10 people depending on chair width. At standard dining height of 30 inches, the table pairs with chairs ranging from 17 to 19 inches in seat height.

We recommend allowing 24 inches of table length per person for comfortable elbow room. With the Lanton’s 96-inch length, you can seat four people on each long side plus one at each end for special occasions. The 42-inch width provides ample space for serving dishes down the center while leaving room for place settings.

Assembly & Care Instructions

The Lanton arrives partially assembled in two boxes weighing approximately 85 pounds each. You’ll attach the trestle base to the tabletop using provided brackets and bolts. Assembly requires a Phillips screwdriver, though we include an Allen wrench for the hex bolts.

Plan for two people and 45 minutes to complete assembly. The instruction manual includes step-by-step photos and a QR code linking to our assembly video. Once assembled, the table weighs approximately 165 pounds and should be positioned before tightening all bolts completely.

Perfect for our family of 10
We needed a table that could actually seat our extended family, and the Lanton delivered. Assembly was straightforward with my husband and teenage son. The wood feels substantial and the finish is gorgeous with natural variation. We’ve hosted three Sunday dinners since it arrived and everyone comments on how beautiful it is.

Quality construction worth the investment
I was hesitant about ordering furniture online, but this table exceeded expectations. The solid wood construction is immediately apparent when you touch it. No particle board or cheap materials here. The trestle base is rock solid and the finish resists our kids’ spills remarkably well.

Beautiful farmhouse style, seats everyone
We hosted Thanksgiving for 10 people this year and the table was perfect. Everyone had plenty of elbow room and the trestle base meant no one was sitting on a table leg. The weathered oak finish gives it character without looking distressed or overly rustic.

Gorgeous table, needs help with assembly
The table is absolutely beautiful and feels like an heirloom piece. It’s heavy and solid. Assembly took us longer than expected—closer to 90 minutes—but that’s because we’re not handy. Definitely recruit a second person. Once assembled, it’s been perfect for daily meals and homework.

Best purchase for our new home
We bought this table for our new dining room and it’s become the heart of our home. The size is perfect for family dinners plus hosting friends. I appreciate that the finish doesn’t show every fingerprint or water ring. It feels well-made and I expect it to last for decades.

Solid wood quality at this price point
I researched dining tables for months and couldn’t find solid wood construction at this price anywhere else. The Lanton is the real deal—no veneers, no engineered wood. The grain patterns are beautiful and unique. It seats our family of 8 with room for guests when needed.

Good to know

Questions About the Lanton Dining Table

The Lanton seats 8 to 10 people depending on chair width and how closely you arrange seating. The 96-inch length allows for four people on each long side plus one person at each end. For everyday meals with family of 8, you’ll have generous elbow room. When hosting 10 guests for special occasions, seating is comfortable but cozier.

We recommend 24 inches of table length per person as a guideline. The trestle base design eliminates corner legs, making end seating more comfortable than traditional four-leg tables.

The Lanton is constructed entirely from solid rubberwood, a sustainable hardwood known for durability and beautiful grain. We use mortise-and-tenon joinery to connect the trestle base to the top, creating joints stronger than the surrounding wood.

The weathered oak finish features a catalyzed conversion varnish topcoat—the same commercial-grade finish used in restaurant furniture. This protective coating resists water rings, scratches, and daily wear far better than standard polyurethane finishes. Minor surface scratches that do occur can often be minimized with simple techniques described in our care guide.

Assembly requires two people and takes approximately 45 minutes. You’ll need a Phillips screwdriver, though we include an Allen wrench for the hex bolts. The table arrives partially assembled in two boxes—you’ll attach the trestle base to the tabletop using provided steel brackets and hardware.

Our instruction manual includes step-by-step photos and a QR code linking to an assembly video. The process involves aligning pre-drilled holes and tightening bolts—no complex carpentry skills required. Plan to assemble where you want the table positioned, as it weighs 165 pounds when complete.

The Lanton measures 96 inches long by 42 inches wide by 30 inches high. To determine if it fits your space, measure your dining room and ensure you have at least 36 inches of clearance between the table edge and walls or furniture on all sides. This clearance allows chairs to pull out comfortably.

For a room that seats 10 people around this table with adequate walking space, we recommend a minimum room size of 14 feet by 11 feet. If your space is smaller, consider our Garrison table which extends from 78 to 96 inches, giving you flexibility for everyday versus entertaining configurations.

Yes, one major advantage of solid wood construction is that the Lanton can be completely refinished if needed. Unlike veneer-topped tables where sanding through the thin surface layer exposes particle board underneath, solid wood goes through the entire thickness.

If your table develops deep scratches or you want to change the finish color after years of use, a furniture refinisher can sand down to bare wood and apply new stain and topcoat. This ability to refinish means the Lanton can serve your family for generations, adapting to changing décor preferences over time.

No, the Lanton Dining Table is sold separately from seating to allow you to customize your dining setup. You can pair it with our matching Lanton ladder-back chairs and Lanton bench for a cohesive farmhouse look, or mix it with upholstered parsons chairs for a transitional style.

This flexibility lets you choose seating that fits your comfort preferences, budget, and aesthetic vision. Many customers purchase the table first and add seating over time as budget allows.

We offer a 30-day return window from delivery date. If the Lanton doesn’t work in your space, contact our customer service team to initiate a return. The table must be in original condition with all hardware and packaging materials.

Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and we recommend using a furniture freight service for safe transport. Once we receive and inspect the returned table, we’ll process your refund minus the original shipping cost. We encourage reviewing dimensions carefully before ordering to ensure proper fit.
